Philanthropy For the 98%

making change with pocket change: Tips & tricks to maximize your giving when you don't have a lot to give.

OUR BIG IDEA

Anyone can be a philanthropist.

While there is a perception that only wealthy people can be philanthropists, the truth is that the bulk of charitable giving in the USA is done in small donations.  While million dollar gifts get all the press, $25 and under donations  (lots of them) are making real change happen.

Our forthcoming book:  Give It Away: Philanthropy For the 98% will help you maximize your charitable impact.  We will share philosophies, tips, ideas, and best practices to making the most of what we are calling Tiny Philanthropy.  From charity selection to micro-tithing to donation bundling , we cover all aspects of giving small amounts to charity in the best ways possible.

Adam Gertsacov

Author & founder

Adam has been on all sides of the granting/fundraising/ giving equation.  As a professional performing artist and non profit administrator, Adam has sought and won grants from individuals, families, corporations, foundations, and legislative bodies.  Adam has also run a small family fund that supports innovative projects that intertwine arts and academic subjects for Rhode Island public schoolchildren.  Adam has also been a small scale philanthropist since an early age, regularly giving away a portion of his allowance since age 11.  Adam wrote this book because he has the firm belief that everybody can be a philanthropist, and that small actions matter most.
